Overview
The 2010 Volvo V70 is Volvo's five-passenger wagon available in base 3.2 and R-Design trim levels for 2010. It gets a slight fuel economy improvement for this year. A new trim level - 3.2 R-Design has been introduced. It rides on bigger wheels, features a sport-tuned suspension and unique styling cues inside and out. All V70 models get some different interior trim and a new grille with a larger logo. Further, the optional packages have also been reorganized and renamed.
Powertrain And Performance
The 2010 Volvo V70 is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-6 good for 235 hp and 236 pound-feet of torque. All V70s are front-wheel drive and come with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy is 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined.
Build And Styling
The V70 3.2 gets a PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) rating 3.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with 225 horsepower (joins carryover ULEV version with 235 horsepower) with revised shift pattern for six-speed "geartronic" automatic transmission with PZEV engine for increased fuel economy estimates. A new grille with larger Iron Mark logo, silver roof rails, standard Sirius satellite radio preparation, silk metal key fob bezel, and new steering wheel with silk metal accents (requires Premium Package) are key features. Multimedia Package with Dynaudio premium sound system, Sirius satellite radio and Volvo DVD-based navigation system, Technology Package replacing Collision Avoidance Package with same contents, and screen refresh for available navigation system with new start-up screen, user-friendly icons and more distinctive menus are a few important optional features.
The new model V70 3.2 R-Design comes with 18-inch "Cratus" alloy wheels with 245/40R-18 tires, sport chassis, silk metal finish grille trim with R-Design logo, tailgate spoiler, watch dial instrument cluster, unique Deco inlays and more.
Safety Features
Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) Anti-skid System, Anti-locking Brake System with Electronic Brake Assistance (EBA), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) and ISOFIX/Latch Attachment System are among the standard safety features.
